HURRICANE MARIA

This sequence was created and submitted in the student-run RIT NPPA What We Do Competition. Using only the Associated Press photo archive, I selected no more than 25 images and sequenced them to create a slideshow that best illustrated the impact and aftermath of Hurricane Maria, which devastated Puerto Rico on Sept. 20, 2017. My goal was to present not only the catastrophe this hurricane created but show the resilience of the survivors through still imagery. I was awarded first place for this assignment along with a scholarship to attend the Kalish Picture Editing Workshop.
